We are pleased to announce receipt of $15,000 to assist with the development of a fitness park next to the Community Centre. Ground work includes a multi-purpose playing field, and a surrounding walking trail with lots of space for more development. Sure to be of great benefit to summer and winter program planning and a place where all ages can participate in healthy outdoor activities.
We were also successful in our application for a $10000 grant under the provincial Age-Friendly Initiative. This will help with the long term development of outdoor spaces and activities that will be inclusive of the aging population. For more information on the Age-Friendly Initiative: http://www.health.gov.nl.ca/health/grantsfunding/age_friendly_communities_guide.pdf The ball is also rolling toward a Cormack Come Home Year for 2014 in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of Cormack's incorporation (1964).
