We are pleased to announce receipt of $15,000 to assist with the development of a fitness park next to the Community Centre. Ground work includes a multi-purpose playing field, and a surrounding walking trail with lots of space for more development. Sure to be of great benefit to summer and winter program planning and a place where all ages can participate in healthy outdoor activities.

We were also successful in our application for a $10000 grant under the provincial Age-Friendly Initiative. This will help with the long term development of outdoor spaces and activities that will be inclusive of the aging population. For more information on the Age-Friendly Initiative:

The ball is also rolling toward a Cormack Come Home Year for 2014 in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of Cormack's incorporation (1964).

CANADA DAY

Each summer, on July 1st, Cormack comes together to celebrate Canada's birthday.  The Town Council organizes a day full of Canada Day activities for the young and old and all of the community turns out to take part in the festivities.  The activities are followed by the singing of the national anthem and the cake cutting ceremony.

Summer Recreation Program

Each summer, the Cormack Recreation Committee and the Town of Cormack hires students to coordinate and supervise a recreation program for the children of our community. The program normally runs from the beginning of July through to mid-August and includes a variety of activities such as crafts, nature walks, dances, sports, and other learning activities. If you would like to become involved in the success of our summer program either as a student worker, volunteer, or participant, contact the Town Office at 635-7025.
